Device storage
Cookie Policy
How Tokenswim uses cookies and browser storage for authentication, security, preferences, and referrals — and how you can manage them.
Last updated July 25, 2026
1. What this Policy covers
This Cookie Policy explains how Tokenswim uses cookies, local storage, session storage, and similar technologies on tokenswim.app and related web properties (the “Site”). It should be read with our Privacy Policy, which describes broader personal-data practices.
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. Local storage and similar browser storage can remember information on your device without using a traditional cookie. We use “cookies” in this Policy to refer to both cookies and analogous browser storage unless we specify otherwise.
2. Why we use cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to:
- authenticate you, maintain secure sessions, and protect account features;
- remember preferences such as appearance (light/dark) so the Site behaves consistently across visits;
- attribute referral sign-ups when you arrive through a valid invite link; and
- help prevent automated abuse on sensitive forms (for example via Cloudflare Turnstile), which may set or read security-related cookies on our or our provider’s domain.
These purposes are primarily essential to operate the Site and provide features you request. We currently do not use cookies for cross-site targeted advertising.
3. Cookies and storage we use
The following table describes the primary first-party storage used by Tokenswim. Names and exact behavior may evolve as we ship product updates; material changes will be reflected here.
Authentication and session cookies
Essential
Keep you signed in after authentication, associate browser requests with your session, and support account security (including multi-factor and recovery flows where applicable).
Duration: session or authentication expiry
theme (local storage)
Preference
Remember your light or dark appearance preference so the interface loads with your last choice.
Duration: until you change the setting or clear browser data
tswim.invite:v1 (local storage)
Functional
Remember a referral invite code after you arrive through a referral link, so a later sign-up within the retention window can attribute the referral.
Duration: 30 days
Locale / language preference (where stored)
Preference
Remember the interface language you select when a locale switcher is available, so subsequent visits can load the preferred language.
Duration: until you change the setting or clear browser data
Bot protection / Turnstile (provider)
Essential / Security
Help distinguish human users from bots on sign-up, sign-in, and other sensitive actions. Cloudflare or similar providers may set their own cookies or tokens as part of challenge flows.
Duration: as determined by the security provider
4. Categories, analytics, and advertising
Categories we use
- Essential — required for core Site operation, authentication, security, and fraud prevention. The Site may not function without them.
- Preference / Functional — remember choices such as theme, language, or referral context so the product works as you expect.
Analytics and advertising
Tokenswim does not currently use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site behavioral tracking pixels on the marketing or app Site. If we introduce non-essential analytics, advertising, or similar technologies in the future, we will update this Policy and provide any consent or control mechanisms required by applicable law before using them in a non-essential way.
As described in our Privacy Policy, Tokenswim may share aggregated or de-identified service metrics with partners for reliability and product analysis. That practice is not intended to identify you through browser cookies.
5. Managing browser storage
Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies and clear local storage through settings. You can also use private browsing modes. Controls vary by browser and device; check your browser’s help documentation for steps.
If you block or remove essential authentication storage, you may not be able to sign in, stay signed in, or use account features. Clearing browser data removes stored theme, locale, and referral preferences.
Where a device-level “Do Not Track” or global privacy control signal is sent, we honor it to the extent required by law and technical feasibility for any non-essential tracking we may introduce later. Essential cookies needed to operate the Service are not disabled by those signals.
6. Changes and contact
We may update this Cookie Policy when our use of cookies or browser storage changes, or when legal requirements change. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will be revised accordingly.
For questions about this Policy or our use of cookies, contact contact@tokenswim.app.
